Making a bid...

How do I access the bidding page?

Bidding is possible by clicking on a photo or the description of an item. Doing so will take you to the bidding page, where you will find more pictures and a more detailed description of your lot. Here, you can fill in your maximum bidding amount.
However, this does not mean that your bid becomes the actual bid. The auction proceeds by means of a fixed ladder of increasing bids. By making a bid the bidding amount is automatically increased to the next bidding step. Therefore, your actual bid is never higher than 1 bidding step above a previously (by someone else) offered amount.

An example:

The starting amount of an item is 100 euro and someone (Bidder 1) makes a bid of 100 euro.
You (Bidder 2) bids 200 euro.
By making your bid, the bidding amount is automatically increased to the next bidding step: 105 euro for bidder 2. Bidder 2 has effectively bid the highest amount, but his visible (and therefore actual) bid is never more than one bidding step above the previously highest bid.

It could be, however, that Bidder 1 bid 150 euro.
In this case the visible (and therefore actual) offer of Bidder 2 becomes 155 euro, again one bidding step above the previously highest bid.

However, if Bidder 1 has made a bid of 300 euro, then Bidder 1 remains the highest bidder with an amount of 205 euro, that is, one bidding step above your (Bidder 2) maximum bid of 200 euro.

On your “my bids” page, you can see whether you are (still) the highest bidder.

Bidding steps:

From 0-100 euros the bidding steps are 1 euro.
From 101 euros and above the bidding steps are 5 euro.
