Mr.Wester Sr. owned a textile-shop "Wester & de Groot", Herestraat 18, Groningen / the Netherlands.
Commissioned by this shopkeeper around 1925, artists from Groningen designed sculptures for his shop-window.
This particular portrait-sculpture has been owned by the Wester family since then.
